2 OUR OPPORTUNITY
Sylvia Newman Garden Design needs a Site Foreman to join their growing team based in Longstanton, near Cambridge. You’ll take responsibility for overseeing/working on site-based projects and manage and maintain the company’s standards of excellence.
Other key tasks and responsibilities of the successful Site Foreman include:-
- Site set up and mark out
- Woking on site and overseeing the smooth running of site projects from start to finish
- Managing staff and workload allocation while monitoring daily progress
- Providing regular updates to the client and to the office
- Take responsibility for health and safety on site, maintaining a safe, clean, tidy and organised site at all times
- Oversee and monitor the work of contractors, with the ability to perform on tasks.
- Work to the agreed schedule, budget and deadlines.
This is a busy role which requires you to stay ahead of the project, taking care of the planning, ordering of materials and ensuring correct workforce planning; overcome challenges and site based problems as they arise and ensure client relationship management and staff management.
The successful applicant must have previous experience in a site foreman role as well as experience of excavation, paving, bricklaying, drainage etc. You must also have the following attributes:
- Previous experience of managing a team
- Personable and approachable
- Ground works experience
- Hard landscaping experience
- Able to multi-task and work to a consistently high standard
- Able to manage clients and deliver excellent customer service
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrable ability to work to deadlines
- Self-motivated and willing to learn
- Able to work well within a team
- A full clean driving licence and access to own transport (Company van provided for client visits)
- Be able to provide your own hand tools
Desirable attributes are a CSCS card, trailer licence, first aid and relevant Health and Safety qualifications. This role requires a good level of physical fitness and involves heavy lifting at times.
