We accept commissions for both private and commercial clients and approach each new project with our signature commitment to style and excellence
2 OUR OPPORTUNITY
An opportunity has arisen for a Labourer to join the growing team of Sylvia Newman Garden Design, a family-run design and build company based in Longstanton, near Cambridge. You’ll take responsibility for undertaking general site labouring, working closely with other colleagues to ensure the smooth running of design and build projects.
Other key tasks and responsibilities of the successful candidate include:
- Setting up site
- Using cement mixers
- Working closely with tradesmen to facilitate them to focus on their own roles
- Ensuring that the site is tidied at the end of each working day
- Ensuring a well-maintained site
- Taking responsibility for tidying the yard, ensuring that stock and materials are tidy and correctly stored and that equipment is well-maintained and stored
The successful candidate must have the following attributes:
- Ability to use your initiative to work with other staff to ensure the smooth and efficient running of projects
- Ability to work to a consistently high standard
- Ability to work well within a team
- Hard working
- Positive attitude
- High energy and enthusiasm
- Ability to demonstrate a common sense approach
- Interest in a trade industry
- Self-motivated and willing to learn
- And have a full clean driving licence and access to own transport (Company van provided for client visits)
Previous labouring or ground working experience is useful but not essential as on the job training is given. This is a demanding role requiring you to be physically fit and includes tasks such as heavy lifting.
